Christian Kastner
My academic background is in computer science (graduate of the Technical University of Vienna).
My professional background is in the financial sector. I have worked in banking for more than two decades, initially in risk management where I implemented various parts of the ICAAP after Basel II came in effect, and where I also designed, implemented, maintained, and grew a risk quantification engine that is to this day the core application of an Austrian bank's risk management department. I later transitioned to business analysis and project management, where I nowadays mostly lead IT-focused projects driven by banking regulation for example AEOI/CRS reporting. I also have experience as a data protection officer, though I haven't been actively involved with GDPR topics for a while now.
I'm currently pursuing a master's degree in data science, with a focus on machine learning and deep learning, again at TU Wien.
I have enjoyed contributing to Debian since 2010, and became a Project Member in 2015.
